Assalaamu alaikum [peace be to you],
I am planning to make religious comparisons. at start, between the three Abrahamic beliefs: Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
for an honest and fair comparison, I need 2 or 3 people from these faiths to check, correct and approve what I write about their beliefs. so that no one will say I misrepresented their religion.
If you are a Christian or Jews and you have good knowledge about your religion, please comment here, and In sha'Allah, I will send you a note with what I need you to check.
thanks
Wassalaamu alaikum
There are many different Christian sects.
Catholics are the main sect BUT they DO not represent all of Christians, they have a lot of traditions and practices that are not practiced in many churches. (I think there are over 12 different Christian churches, that all practice and believe slightly differently)
Same thing with Judaism, you have Hasedic Orthodox Jews, who follow nearly all of laws and rules, and you have modern Orthodox who are not as conservative and their lifestyles are slightly different right down to what they wear.
It's the same with Islam I researched Shia, Sunni and Ahmedi sects, you can't pick one a say that one represents all of Islam. (You can debate which one is right and wrong, but my point is for someone who is not familiar with Islam, this can be confusing and misleading)
^_~ Just to give you a heads up because I've done this project and research before, and you either have to be specific about which sect you are talking about, or make sure you keep things that are vague and general. Example, Jesus is ALWAYS the prophet for all Christian churches. In Judaism, they believe in no prophet (although I have seen exceptions where some believe in Jesus but very very very rare). If you need help clarifying anything let me know
Good luck. THANK YOU for promoting peace and understanding, we need more people like you.
Hope You all will get My Point! If anyone get any confusion feel free to send Me a Note!
~D~
May God bless all the efforts that you make to bring His people closer to him!
