this is a close up of the first page of the Mus'haf [link]
the translation of the Arabic text goes like this:
first, on top: Surah (chapter) Al-Faatihah (the Opener/Opening)
then the content:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise be to Allah , Lord of the worlds
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Master of Judgment Day
It is You we worship and You we ask for help
Guide us to the straight path
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked Your anger or of those who are astray
Al-Faatihah is the chapter the most read in the Qur'an. it is read in every prayer. Christians can consider it like the Lord's prayer of the Muslim.
This Mus'haf is written in Naskh script by a calligrapher called 'Uthman Taha'. A Mush'af usually requires more than 3 years in writing and an additional year for proof-reading and reviewing before sending it to the printers.
Taha's beautiful, clear and easy-to-read style is used in the Madina Mushaf and some other Mus'hafs.
In the photo, verses separators have the numbers of verses written in Indian digits (also called Arabic–Indic numerals and Arabic Eastern Numerals).
to be continued, in sha'Allah...
I hope this was beneficial.
if I am right, it is from the God. if I am wrong, it is from myself.
