Assalaamu alaikum [peace be to you],

The last Messenger of the God, Mohammed -peace be upon him- is a source of wisdom for all aspiring Muslims and many non-muslims. his words changed the backward ignorant Arabs and made them into a great nation. these same words keep shaping people's life all around the world. you don't need to be a Muslim in order to recognize and appreciate the beauty of the teachings of Mohammed -peace be upon him-, as many of his teachings can be taken as life guidelines for anyone who wants to be a better human being.

Today, I'd like to talk a little about orphans and how orphans are seen through the words of Mohammed -peace be upon him-.
the prophet said:
"Whoever caresses the head of an orphan (in affection), solely for the sake of Allah, a good deed* will be written to his account for every hair over which he passed his hand, and whoever treated an orphan (boy or girl) with goodness and kindness, he and I will be close to each-other in Heaven as these two fingers"
and he gestured with his forefinger and middle finger, holding them together.
An orphan himself, Mohammed paid special attention to the care of children. He himself adopted a former slave and raised him with the same care as if he were his own son.

The Prophet -peace be upon him- said, “It is an obligation for all true Muslims to take care of the children of family and friends in the event those children are orphaned.”
He -peace be upon him- also said “the best Muslim's home is the one wherein an orphan is supported and is treated in a loving and affectionate manner, and the worst is that home wherein an orphan lives and is treated badly or cruelly."
The Prophet -peace be upon him- stated, “A terrible coward is any man who strikes a woman; The worst are those who strikes an orphan.”

The Prophet -peace be upon him- said "Feed the hungry, visit the sick and free the captives."
Besides mention of feeding the hungry - which is a deed of compassion and kind-heartedness, this Hadith also contains an injunction for visiting the sick and obtaining the freedom of those who are (unlawfully) held prisoners."

the Prophet of Allah -peace be upon him- said "For the young man who will honor an old man because of his age, Allah will appoint men who will honor him in his old age."
This Hadith (saying) explains that, although the reward for showing good manners and respect to one's elders will be in the Hereafter, the Almighty bestows His favors to such people in this world too.

Anas ibn Maalik relates that an elderly man approached, wanting an audience with the Prophet Mohammed -peace be upon him-, but the people were slow to make room for him, so the Prophet said:
"He is not one of us he who does not show mercy to our little ones (children) and does not respect the rights of our elders"

*in Islam, we believe salvation is achieved through faith and work. we believe that the God counts the good deeds and bad deeds of people in this earthly life and in the day of judgment, he will weight them in order to define the destination of the person. if the good deeds outweigh the bad deeds, the person would go to heaven. if the bad deeds outweigh the good deeds, the person would go to hell. and here we can see the ultimate justice of the almighty God. nobody will be wronged and nobody will be punished for something he didn't do. everyone will be judged based solely on their own deeds in this life.
I add that the good deeds can be multiplied and increased through certain acts of worship and the bad deeds can be erased through repentance.

I hope that's beneficial.

If I am right, it's from the God, if wrong, it's from myself.
