Assalaamu alaikum [peace be to you],
From the results of the past Quizzes, I found some people making mistakes in the very definition of Islam. so I see the need for a reminder about it.
WHAT IS ISLAM:The Arabic word إسلام ISLAM has a two-fold meaning: peace, and submission to the God (If you say "Islam means -peace- " and stop, then that's wrong. If you say "Islam means -submission- " and stop, then that's wrong).
This submission to the God requires a fully conscious and willing effort to submit to the one Almighty God. One must consciously and conscientiously give oneself to the service of Allah. This means to act on what Allah enjoins all of us to do (in his revelation, the Qur'an) and what His final Prophet and messenger, Mohammed -peace be upon him- encouraged us to do.
Once we humble ourselves, rid ourselves of our egoism and submit totally to Allah, and to Him exclusively, in faith and in action, we will surely feel peace in our hearts. Establishing peace in our hearts will bring about peace in our external conduct as well.

PILLARS OF ISLAM AND ARTICLES OF FAITH:Islam is careful to remind us that it is not a religion to be paid mere lip service; rather it is an all-encompassing way of life that must be practiced continuously for it to be Islam.
The Muslim must practice the five pillars of the religion:
1- testimony of Faith or belief in the Oneness of the God and the finality of the prophethood of Mohammed -peace be upon him-;
2- Establishment of the daily prayers;
3- Self-purification through fasting;
4- Concern for and almsgiving to the needy; and
5- The pilgrimage to Makkah (situated in Saudi Arabia) for those who are able.
Muslims believe in the six articles of faith:
1- belief in God, There is One God, Supreme and Eternal, Creator and Provider, Who is Merciful and Compassionate. God has neither father nor mother, and no sons or daughters. God has never fathered anyone, nor was He fathered. God has no equals. He is God of all humankind, not of a special tribe, race, or group of people. He is the God of all races and colours, of believers and unbelievers alike. God is Mighty and Supreme, yet is also very near to pious, thoughtful believers, answering their prayers and helping them. God asks us to know Him, to love Him, and to follow His Law, for our own benefit and salvation.
2- the prophets, All Messengers and Prophets of God such as Noah, Abraham, Lot, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus and Mohammed -peace be upon them all- were mortal human beings endowed with Divine Revelations and appointed by God to teach humankind how to submit to His will and obey His Laws.
3- the Holy Books, Muslims believe in the Revelations sent by Almighty God to His Prophets and Messengers including the Qur'an of prophet Mohammed -peace be upon him-, the original Torah of prophet Moses -peace be upon him-, the original Gospel of prophet Jesus -peace be upon him-, the Scrolls of prophet Abraham -peace be upon him- and the original Psalms of prophet David -peace be upon him-.
4- the angels, Angels are pure and spiritually obedient beings, created by God to fulfill His commands and worship Him tirelessly.
5- the Day of Judgment After the world ends, Muslims believe that all people who have died will be brought back to life (or, resurrected) in order to face the Judgment rendered to each of them by Almighty God. Muslims believe in an appointed Day of Judgment and in Heaven and Hell.
6- God's decree, whether for good or ill.Muslims believe that Almighty God has knowledge of, and control over, everything that exists in all time and space.
A WHOLE WAY OF LIFE:There are other injunctions and commandments which concern virtually all facets of one's personal, family and civic life. These include such matters as diet, clothing, personal hygiene, interpersonal relations, business ethics, responsibilities towards parents, spouse and children, marriage, divorce and inheritance, civil and criminal law, fighting in defense of Islam, relations with non-Muslims, and so much more. that's why Islam is more than just a religion, it's a whole way of life. and this is what makes Islam different from all other religions.
I hope this was beneficial

Introduction to Islam
Seven Common Questions about IslamIf I am right, it's from Allah. if I am wrong, it's from myself.
and neither some crazy muslims would blow them selves to peaces taking some of us with them and neither would have 9/11 happened.
and those are only examples from cruelty that we do from religious influences.
there is over 10 000 religions on the world.
in perfect world there would be 0 religions.
a world were the true Islam is applied would be the ideal world. a world where peace and tolerance spread everywhere.
may the God guide you and correct your thinking.
You love your mother and your family and you attach that love to the brutality that is Islam.
I wish you no ill will, I just wish you the best in getting over this mental illness that is blighting you.
First, you are entitled to your opinions about Islam. these opinions only represent your misunderstanding and do not, in any way, represent Islam.
That being said, here is my reply:
"I truly hope you reconsider your role in trying to spread such a murderous ideology."
I am afraid your request here is rejected. I will not reconsider.
Islam is not a murderous ideology like what you imagine. It is the perfect religion revealed by the Almighty God himself in order to guide mankind and help them live in peace and prosperity and succeed in this world and the next. The west fears Islam, so they desperately try to vilify Islam in order to scare people and prevent them from following its bright message. it is sad that people like you are brainwashed to believe misconceptions about this beautiful way of life. it appears you only got access to false sources. I hope you took the time and checked more sources before you form your conclusions.
"You love your mother and your family and you attach that love to the brutality that is Islam."
No. you are wrong. I love Islam and my love for Islam is what generates my love for the world. my articles about tolerance, peace, beautiful understanding and interfaith friendship are all derived from Islam. Sadly you know nothing about Islam. coming to my page and calling Islam brutal just shows your ignorance. perhaps if you are open minded, you could read my articles and follow the links I offered to learn more about the Islam you are desperately trying to vilify. they may help you look outside the box.
"I wish you no ill will, I just wish you the best in getting over this mental illness that is blighting you."
I find your statement here quite rude and disrespectful. calling me me mentally ill simply because you don't like my belief -which you don't even know in the first place- just shows a grave display of intolerance.
I let you know that, as a Muslim, I disagree with many people of different faiths, but In my whole life, i never called anybody mentally ill simply because of the religion they follow. regardless of their beliefs, I respect everybody. and my respect for people comes from my own religion Islam which you conveniently call murderous ideology. if you are wishing for me to leave this beautiful religion and invite me to follow yours and become like you calling people I don't know mentally ill, then thanks. what I have is better than what you have.
what I have is a religion that teaches me to respect all the world. a religion that teaches me to spread peace, love, tolerance, understanding and knowledge. a religion that teaches me to stand against hate, persecution, oppression and ignorance. a religion that teaches me not to judge people I don't know and teaches me not to belittle them as mentally ill.
Now I need to tell you that my page here is NOT for people to attack and flame Islam. it is not for people to criticize my religious choice. it is FOR ME to explain the Islam I learned and came to love and share it to the world. it is FOR ME to explain the message of Islam which is distorted by the enemies of Islam. it is to fight the misconceptions and lies and ignorance with truth. it is to spread tolerance for All people.
If you intend to vilify Islam, then I am afraid this is not your place. you can do that freely in your own page. If you are open minded and you are always ready to listen to the opposite opinion, if you are ready to correct your information when shown to be wrong. if you are interested to know the truth about Islam and if you are tolerant enough to respect the others even when you disagree with them, then you are welcome in my page. you can read my articles and ask any questions about Islam.
This is what I offer. and in the end, I pray to the God may he offer you guidance and replace your ignorance with knowledge.
nice artwork as well
I have a question about prayer. I know in Islam you pray 5 times a day, at certain times. As a Catholic, we have 7 sections of the day for prayer, at certain times, but I am having a hard time making sure I can be free at all those times (the ones that are throughout the middle of the day mostly). How is it that Muslims manage it? I mean, because of classes at University or meetings or things I have to go to and things. I hope you understand what I mean ^_^;;;
Awesome drawing as always
many Islamic schools and companies allow students/workers to take a small break for prayer (it won't take more than 10 minutes. it's like going to toilet) some may have a prayer room.
As for Muslims who are in a non-Muslim schools or companies, if they are not allowed to have a break for prayer, they are obliged to pray late. of course, it's not the best solution. but, you know, you can't practice your religion freely everywhere...
When it has been impossible for me to pray right on time, I have taken to praying a bit later, myself. Once I finish University though, I hope to get a job that allows me to take the small breaks I need. (The day time prayers are shorter than early morning/evening/night prayers, so it should be possible).
Peace be with you!
We always try to pray the prayer in it's time. Because the most thing that God love is "Prayer on Time" , but as long as you can't, then it comes the Quran Verse: 2:286 "Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity."
May Allah Guide us all to his correct path.
