Da'wah by Nayzak Da'wah by Nayzak
Assalaamu alaikum [Peace be to you],

:bulletred: WHAT IS DA'WAH?

دعوة Da'wah is a word in Arabic that means "to invite" or "to offer to share." This is a very important part of being a Muslim and it can be somewhat difficult at times. Yet it is not impossible. The fact is that sharing Islam is a very simple concept. The difficulty comes in when you are trying to communicate the idea to others, especially when they have already been predisposed to believe in something else and to believe that Islam is something bad.

Keep in mind at all times that you are on a special mission to deliver a message of inviting people to worship Allah according to the way that He wants to be worshipped. You are to call them to know the truth and how to follow it. You do this with both your kind words and correct actions.

Sincerity in intention and correction of action are very important for Da'wah. Is your intention truly to bring this person closer to the truth? Or is it to prove him wrong? Or to show off your oratory skills? Make sure your intention is solely for the pleasure of the God. To bring this person closer to the truth and to guide him to the way of Allah, Islam. And make sure you are performing this Da’wah in the correct manner, at the proper place and time.

:bulletred: GENERAL TIPS FOR DA'WAH

The God almighty gave us a general guideline on how to call people to Islam. he said in his final revelation:
ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ
Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious:

translation from 16:125

The best Da'wah is to be a good example because people can see Islam in you without you having to say anything.
here are a few tips that every Muslim needs to keep in mind when trying to do his da'wah duty:

a- Know what you’re talking about. Make sure you have a sound, deep knowledge of what you say. Make sure what you say is absolutely correct. Be honest if you don’t know. If you do not have a solid knowledge of what you are saying, your contribution may be negative instead of positive.

b- Have complete faith in what you’re saying with no doubt. It is said that what comes from the mouth goes to the ear, but what comes from the heart goes to the heart. The saying goes, if you do not have it, you cannot give it. If you don’t truly believe something, you can’t get someone else to. Your sincerity and certainty in your faith plays a large part in your successfulness at Da’wah.

c- Practice what you preach. The best Da’wah is by way of example. Don't be a hypocrite. Don’t discuss the importance of truth and honesty in Islam when you lie and cheat constantly. Make sure your actions express the beautiful beliefs and commands of Islam. Hypocricy turns people away.

I hope this was beneficial.

More about Da'wah:

If I am right, it is from the God. If I am wrong, it is from myself. I only did my best, so O God! forgive me.

I've only recently been learning about Islam, but the concept of da'wah is more agreeable to me than any other kind of proselytizing. Plus, it seems easier to discuss the Qur'an and what is prescribed in it since it is, to me, more direct and explicit than the previous two Testaments.

Very nice, however, a couple points:-

1) "Allah". Allah is the Arabic word for God. It should not be used when writing in English. This has led to much confusion where many non-Muslims think Muslims worship Allah and not God. Of course, this is not correct. Muslims worship God, the same God of Abraham which Jews, Christians, and others worship.

2) Sometimes you write "the God". In English it is just "God". "The God" kind of implies that there is more than one God. La illahah al Allah!

All the best!

"Allah". Allah is the Arabic word for God. It should not be used when writing in English
then don't use it when YOU write in English. :D
I use the words "Allah" and "the God" interchangeably and I don't see confusion in the comments of the readers in this regard.

Sometimes you write "the God". In English it is just "God".
In fact, I should be writing "The Only True God worthy of worship". because that's what "Allah" literally means. but I just chose to make it short so I wrote "The God".

Beautiful picture, and beautiful message. I agree with you, and part of what pushed me away from religions was the inconsistency between the message and the behaviors of the messengers. It is a tall order to live up to, and from what I can tell in your art and in what you had to say, you might be on the right path for you. I wish you all the best in your journey, and that you find the peace that Islam is meant to offer.

Incredible. This helped clear some things up. I've always enjoyed making sure I know well about Islam, before I ever speak about anything, and I always knew it was good...but I never knew it was a form of dawah. It's nice to know.:) Jazak'alllah
